About Me
- Biltongboer
- Perth, WA, Australia
- I was born and raised in a country called South West Africa (SWA)- today known as Namibia. I lived there for most of my life, and recently moved Down Under with my whole family. Some of my stories are about my days growing up as a kid, others are more recent experiences and descriptions of my life in Perth.

An abandonment of one's country, or removal to a foreign country for residence, through fear, disgust, or resentment, or for any cause distinct from business, is called a voluntary exile, as is also a separation from one's country and friends by distress or necessity.—
To drive from one's country by misfortune, necessity, or distress.— To exile one's self, is to quit one's with a view not to return.

About this blog
We all have a story.
All of us have something to tell: Where our ancestors came from, where we grew up, what our culture is like. And although everyone thinks their story is quite similar to everyone else's, it's not. I have always loved reading biographies, because they tell you things that fiction cannot always tell. They tell you about the mundane things, the normal things - the stories of normal people who aren't secret agents, detectives or superheroes.
I have a lot of stories to tell. Some I tell in my mother language, Afrikaans - try out Google's translator if you don't understand them. Some stories are a collection of things that happened all through my life - how I grew up in SWA, my time in the army, and my later experiences. Then I also have a few stories about my new life Down Under.
Most of these stories are covered somewhere else on other blogs, but this is purely a collection of stories without other junk in between.
